Dear editor,
Quitting smoking is one of the most powerful decisions a person can make for their health. The very day one stops, the body begins to clear itself of harmful toxins and the repair process starts immediately. Within days or weeks, remarkable changes can be felt: the senses of taste and smell return, breathing becomes easier, and energy levels rise.
The benefits continue to grow over time. Blood circulation improves, making physical activity less strenuous. Lung function strengthens, reducing cough, wheezing, and other breathing problems. In short, every cigarette avoided is a step toward a healthier, more vibrant life.
It is important that our society recognizes these facts and encourages smokers to take this courageous step. Public awareness campaigns, supportive policies, and community initiatives can help many break free from this dangerous habit. A smoke-free future is not only possible—it is within our reach if we act together.
